Facial Rejuvenation in Korea
Facial rejuvenation can include one or many different types of procedures that are performed in order to restore youthfulness to an ageing face. Facial rejuvenation can range from non-invasive procedures like Fillers and Botox, to moderately invasive procedures like a thread lift, and also more invasive surgeries like face and neck lifts.
The type of procedure you want to have done will depend entirely on what your desired outcome is. A good place to start would be to ask yourself what it is that you find bothersome regarding your appearance. Another thing to take into consideration when deciding on the most appropriate facial rejuvenation procedure is your age. For older people a more invasive surgery might be necessary to achieve desired results.
The beauty of facial rejuvenation is that there is something for everyone. Read more here
Face and Neck Lift
A facelift is a procedure aimed at invigorating the face by giving it a more youthful aesthetic. A facelift is also called a rhytidectomy and in 2018 more than 120,000 facelifts were performed in the USA alone. A facelift tightens the loose hanging skin around the face and jaw, and it also helps make wrinkles or creases around the mouth and nose appear less visible.
A facelift can be done with either local or general anesthesia and can take anywhere between 1 and 4 hours depending on the type of facelift you choose. Depending on the desired result you can opt for either a full facelift or a mini facelift.

1. Full Facelift
A full facelift, or traditional facelift, is an invasive surgical procedure that results in a dramatic change of appearance. It is done by making an incision from the temple at the front of the ear, following along the hairline and usually ending at the back of the scalp behind the ears. The skin is tightened and then fat and tissue is redistributed, after that the excess skin is removed and the incisions are closed with sutures along the incision line (In some cases no sutures, only glue).
If the surgeon uses glue then a follow up for suture removal is not required. In instances where the doctor uses sutures a follow up is required after a few weeks to remove the stitches, unless the doctor used dissolvable stitches, in which case they will disappear.
2. Mini Facelift
A mini facelift, or just minilift, is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that helps restore youth to tired and ageing faces without too much cutting. A mini lift is performed by making shorter incisions above and below the ear in the natural crease of the hairline, forming an S-line. Tissue around the cheeks and jaw is reshaped and excess fat is removed.
As with a traditional facelift the surgeon might use glue or dissolvable sutures, which means it is not necessary to have them removed. In some cases, normal stitches are used that need to be removed.

A neck lift, also known as a lower rhytidectomy, is a procedure similar in its function to that of a facelift. The difference is that a neck lift focuses on improving unwelcome aging in the lower area of the face and neck, including the jawline. A neck lift helps remove fatty deposits that sit under the chin and also tightens loose neck skin.
In the case where the upper part of the face is still visually pleasing and the lower part is not, people will choose to have a neck lift. A neck lift is done by making an incision under the chin and removing excess fat. The surgeon also makes an incision behind the ears to reposition the tissue and remove excess skin from the neck.

If there was a scale for facial rejuvenation from mild noninvasive procedures to drastic and invasive procedures, thread lifting would fit perfectly in the middle as an option for anti-aging.
Thread lifting is the process whereby a surgeon suspends the skin around the face with temporary invisible sutures. The invisible sutures are placed underneath the skin around the cheek area and are used to pull back the skin and hold it in place until the skin has healed around it.
A thread lift is ideal for anybody in their late thirties and upwards, whose skin has started to show mild sign of aging and skin laxity. It should be noted that a thread lift will provide a small amount of lift and is more suited for a natural looking result.

Many people are afraid of surgery and prefer a non surgical way to achieve their young looking face. The alternative way is to have botox or fillers. Fillers give volume to certain are of face and botox removes fine lines in face.
Botox
Botox is a chemical that is injected into the skin and causes disruptions in communication between nerves and facial muscles. Without activation from the nerves the facial muscles stop contracting and this reduction in facial contraction is what helps with the reduction of wrinkles.
Botox is used to soften wrinkles around the eyes, commonly known as crow’s feet, and is also commonly used to tighten skin around the forehead. Botox injections last for around six months. With the repeated use of Botox, the muscles around the face will start to weaken and the Botox effects will start to last longer.
Filler
Fillers are substances that are injected under the skin to smooth and soften the appearance of wrinkles and folds, like those around the mouth and cheeks. Fillers can also be injected to provide volume to areas that are flat or small such as the lips.
Typically, fillers can last anywhere from six months to two or three years, depending on the type of filler used. Some fillers help in the production of collagen and others make the skin appear plumper and more voluminous.
